TGC Research Directive 002 - Air Defense Testing
I've been wanting to run some tests on the current state of air power and air defense/fed air defense. These tests will be live-fire between members. Minimal weapons/ammunition should be expended, so hopefully no one will need financial compensation; however, that can be arranged.
Test Goals:
1. To ascertain the current effectiveness and use of OAAMBs, including power, cost-effectiveness, shielding, and int/heli triggering
2. To definitively gauge the impact of the "range rule" for attacking air wings and navies
3. To determine whether the NFP drain is still effective under interceptor cover and under what conditions
4. To judge overall the cost-effectiveness of conventional methods to attack enemy air defenses.

Re: TGC Research Directive 002 - Air Defense Testing
The tests should be carried out as follows:
The defending country should be a c3 with one other country (c3 or major country) as its fed support. This will allow for total control over the composition of the air defense. The defending c3 will have only air defense + ammo in it, with only what is needed for each test deployed. Likewise, the major supporting country will have all air defense down except for what is needed during the tests.
The attacking country may be either a major warslave or a c3, or a combo of both, as long as the required offensive weapons can be fielded.
OAAMB TEST
1. Control firing of 1000 oaamb versus standard air defense (mixture of 400 int & heli wings deployed in defending countries)
2. Firing of 1000 oaamb versus heli wings only, once with fed support once without
3. Firing of 1000 oaamb versus int wings only, once with fed support once without
4. Firing of 1 oaamb plus 1 of each other type of ground weapon versus standard air defense to see if triggering can be manipulated
5 Firing of 1000 oaamb behind various compositions of ground weapons (to be determined) to determine shielding for oaambs
6. Firing of 1 oaamb with multiple air wings deployed at various distance to determine if triggering is based on distance.

"RANGE RULE" - Attack Air Wings Test
1a. Control - Fire 1000FP/900 drones from 1000-1500 km at int + fed
2a. Fire 1000FP/900 drones from same range with SF dropped within 35km of target
3a. Fire 1000/900 from 500-1000km
4a. Fire 1000/900 from within 500km
5a. Fire 1000/900 from >250 (if possible)
1b-5b. Repeat above procedure with 400 NFP, starting at 3000-4000km, then 2000-3000, 1000-2000, >1000, point blank. This will take a few days because of the speed of navies.
Heli Drain Test - To be run with 1b-5b
1c-5c. Along with the tests 1b-5b, the navy will fire 400 NFP + 1CMS against standard air defense net to see if at any point helis can be drawn out while ints are still deployed.
Goal #4: "To judge overall the cost-effectiveness of conventional methods to attack enemy air defenses." will be achieved by completing and analyzing the data from the above experiments.
